Top Five controversies at IIFA you can't ignore !

New Delhi: International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) has always been about Indian films abroad. From the energetic performances to the awards and even the stunning style of celebrities, everything adds to the glitz and glam quotient of the event. 

Over the years, celebrities have entertained their fans and IIFA has been the most star-studded and awaited award show. But with so much of glam and excitement, the event attracts a number of controversies.

Here are some top controversies that have happened iN IIFA over years:

When Feroz Khan was seen in High Spirits


In 2002, the veteran actor Late Sadhna was given a lifetime achievement award by Yash Johar and Karan Johar At that time actor Feroz Khan climbed the stage in a drunk position to praise her co-star, Sadhna. 

When a fan grabbed Shah Rukh Khan


In 2011, a fan ran up to the stage while King Khan was performing and he grabbed his leg. The actor asked the fan to leave him as it was the same leg which was troubling Shah Rukh for a long time. He couldn't do much but waited for others to help him get away. The actor was sweet enough to promise to meet the fan later. 

When Shatrughan Sinha commented on Big  B


In IIFA 2008, Abhishek and Aishwarya's 'Guru' got the maximum number of nominations. Shatrughan Sinha, upset with this situation, made a statement for Amitabh and said, “Sab kissika beta hai, ya kissiki bahu, ya kissiki biwi”. 

When Kareena faced Shahid with husband Saif 


This moment came across as a shocker in 2014 IIFA when Kareena Kapoor Khan went on the stage with hubby Saif Ali Khan and greeted her ex-flame Shahid Kapoor with a warm 'Hi!'. 

When B-town stars boycotted IIFA


In 2010 Sri Lanka was declared as the venue for that year. Tamil groups started a protest and asked everyone to either boycott the awards or change the venue as their military officials had killed Tamils in large numbers in the war that led to the decimation of the Tamil Tigers.The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce later announced a boycott and said it would shun the Bollywood actors who would choose to go to Sri Lanka. Thereafter, IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan along with Shah Rukh Khan and many others stayed away from the event.
