New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the Mathura police have arrested five accused including the main culprit. The arrests have been made in connection with the murder of two jewellers in the city.
There was a big furore over the murder of these two businessmen which took place on 15th May. The jewellery market has been shut down by the protesters who said the shutters of the shop will be down unless the accused are arrested.
The people of Mathura in general and the businessmen, in particular, were demanding arrests and protested even when senior policemen and local MLAs visited the place.
The MP Hema Malini was not in the town during this period of unrest and told the media that she is in touch with the police throughout and that she would be visiting the town soon.
